Independent advisory · Product data and Digital Product Passeport (DPP)
Product data has moved up the agenda.
Vetta Advisory helps you structure and orchestrate it, for compliance and value.
Product data: a compliance issue that is becoming an organizational one
With one regulation after another drawing on it, product data now needs a consolidated view and shared decisions.
Without shared decisions, the answer tends to take shape elsewhere: in a vendor's format, in a service provider's data model, or under pressure from the first deadline.
Four challenges keep coming up, even in organisations that are already well advanced.
They all draw on the same raw material the regulations ask for: product identification, composition, origin of materials, production and end-of-life conditions. Well governed, it serves several compliance requirements at once. Rebuilt for every new regulation, you pay for it every time.
What’s at stake for your business
Rules that overlap but don’t line up
Digital Product Passport (DPP), the ban on destroying certain unsold goods, deforestation requirements, rules on environmental claims, packaging regulation: obligations with different scopes and different deadlines.
An issue shared across several functions
Legal, Product, Supply Chain, Data, Sustainability: each function moves forward on its own scope. The open question is who owns the overall trade-offs.
Data that already exists, often scattered
Much of the required data already sits somewhere: in your product master data, your PLM systems, your teams' spreadsheets, or with your suppliers — where getting hold of it is often as much a matter of contracts as of systems. The difficulty lies in knowing where it is, how current it is, and who holds it.
A compliance project that still needs to connect to the business
The topic is often well handled from a compliance angle. What remains is to define the value and anchor it in the company's strategy. The use cases follow: administrative simplification, circularity and resale, customer insight, lifecycle services, authentication, AI-assisted applications.
« The companies I meet lack neither skills nor goodwill, and many have already made real progress on part of the issue.
What's most often missing is a consolidated reading of the regulations, visibility over the data that already exists, and a value case defined early enough to act on. I saw these roadblocks from the inside at a software vendor — answering tenders from brands and retailers and supporting them through real-world rollouts — before this became a consulting topic.
That is why I founded Vetta Advisory. »

5 stages of support
The five stages follow a single sequence. Where you come in depends on where you stand today.
-
Regulatory analysis applied to your product portfolio. Readiness assessment and gap analysis across three dimensions: the obligations that apply to you, the data you already hold, and the organisation that owns it.
-
Scoping your needs, your product and supplier data, and governance across the value chain.
-
Vendor benchmarking, support in scoping and running the tender. Critical review of a proposal you have already received.
-
Business case and value strategy. A roadmap that weighs obligations against expected returns, followed by activation.
-
Ongoing regulatory support, keeping pace with new texts, standards and your own decisions.

Mélanie Bradaia,
Founder
For 4 years at a Digital Product Passport software vendor, rising to Head of Revenue, I worked with brands and retailers on their first DPP projects: I answered the first tenders, supported scoping on the vendor side, and followed rollouts from pilot to full-scale production.
Before that: product management at Louis Vuitton and trade marketing at Galeries Lafayette.
Two highly demanding environments that taught me how to build a decision, defend it and move it forward in complex organisations.
I came away with a dual perspective: that of large organisations, with their decision-making processes and high standards; and that of the software vendor, where data, integrations and trade-offs come up against operational reality every week.
